Women's Cross Country Places 17th at Purple Valley Invitational

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University women's cross country team placed 17th at the Purple Valley Invitational hosted by Williams College on Saturday.

Junior Sarah Lagasse (Rehoboth, Mass.) was the top finisher for the Bears as she covered the six-kilometer layout in 25 minutes and 43 seconds.  Next across the line for BSU was junior Molly Rouillard (Dartmouth, Mass.) with a time of 26:00, followed by senior captain Jessica Eidinger (Sutton, Mass.) at 26:10.

Middlebury College won the team title with host Williams placing second and Johns Hopkins finishing third.  Williams sophomore Jennifer Gossels posted a winning time of 22:17.

After a weekend off, the Bears will be back in action on Saturday, October 9th when they compete in the James Early Invitational hosted by Westfield State.
