Women's Cross Country Places 18th at New England Regional

PORTLAND, Maine -- The Bridgewater State College women's cross country team raced to an 18th place finish at the NCAA Division III New England Regional held at Southern Maine on Saturday.  Junior Amanda Hauswirth (Methuen, MA) led the Bears in 66th place, completing the 6,000-meter course in 23:47.0.  

Sophomore Sarah Lagasse (Rehoboth, MA) followed up Hauswirth as the second-highest finisher for the Bears as she posted a time of 23:58.4 for 77th place.  Junior Jessica Eidinger (Attleboro, MA) finished 104th in 24:31.4, while sophomore Diana DeMont (West Springfield, MA) was 136th in 25:07.9.

MIT and Middlebury College were the co-champions, tying for first place out of 47 teams. MIT senior Jacqui Wentz captured the individual title with a time of 21:35.7.
