Abigail Reardon Named MASCAC Volleyball Rookie of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University sophomore outside hitter Abigail Reardon has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Volleyball Rookie of the Week.

Reardon notched 21 kills, eight digs and five blocks (one solo) while posting a .327 hitting percentage in three matches for the Bears last week. The Fairhaven, Massachusetts native tallied a career-high 11 kills to go along with one assist, four digs and a career-best four assisted blocks in a 3-2 win over Nichols College. She also added six kills, two digs and one solo block in a 3-0 setback to Regis College, as well as four kills and two digs in a 3-0 loss to Lasell College.

In 11 matches for the Bears this season, Reardon has recorded 60 kills, 23 digs, eight blocks (four solo), three assists and one ace. She currently ranks fifth in the MASCAC in hitting percentage (.206).

The BSU volleyball team is currently 5-6 on the season and 2-1 in the MASCAC. The Bears host conference foe Massachusetts Maritime Academy on Tuesday evening at six.
