Victoria Caiano Named MASCAC Volleyball Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior libero Victoria Caiano has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Volleyball Player of the Week.

Caiano notched 51 digs, seven assists and six aces in three matches for the Bears last week. The Acushnet, Massachusetts product tallied 23 digs, three aces and an assist in a 3-2 win over Nichols College. She also added 16 digs, five assists and three aces in a 3-0 setback to Regis College, as well as 12 digs and an assist in a 3-0 loss to Lasell College.

In 11 matches for the Bears this season, Caiano has recorded 144 digs, 27 aces and 23 assists. She currently ranks second in the MASCAC in aces per set (0.71) and fifth in digs per set (3.79).

In 37 matches over her first two seasons with the Bears, Caiano has amassed 436 digs, 71 aces, 68 assists and 14 kills.

The BSU volleyball team is currently 5-6 on the season and 2-1 in the MASCAC. The Bears host conference foe Massachusetts Maritime Academy on Tuesday evening at six.
