Jayci Andrews Named MASCAC Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the seventh straight week and eighth time this season, Bridgewater State University graduate student Jayci Andrews has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

The MASCAC Athlete of the Week honor marks the 42nd of Andrews' career including 23 outdoor distinctions.

Andrews earned a pair of All-American accolades last week at the 2022 NCAA Division III Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio. The Plymouth, Massachusetts product posted a season-best time of 13.88 seconds to place fifth in the finals of the 100-meter hurdles. She also recorded a time of 1:00.61 in the finals of the 400-meter hurdles to also place fifth in the event.

A six-time All-American, Andrews is the only Bridgewater State student-athlete to win multiple NCAA titles. She claimed the national title in the 60-meter hurdles at the 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, and then capped off her impressive run by capturing top honors in the 100-meter hurdles at the 2019 DIII Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Andrews presently holds nine individual school records at Bridgewater State (along with three relay marks). She is the Bears indoor record holder in the 55-meter hurdles (8.50), 60-meter hurdles (8.68), long jump (17'6.75"), 200-meter dash (26.37) and 400-meter dash (57.14), as well as the outdoor record holder in the 100-meter hurdles (13.66), 400-meter hurdles (1:00.08), 400-meter dash (55.76) and long jump (17'8.75").
