Jayci Andrews Named MASCAC Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the sixth straight week and seventh time this season, Bridgewater State University graduate student Jayci Andrews has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

The MASCAC Athlete of the Week honor marks the 41st of Andrews' career including 22 outdoor distinctions.

Andrews placed first in the finals of the 100-meter hurdles and captured top honors in the 400-meter hurdles last week at the MIT Final Qualifier. The Plymouth, Massachusetts product posted a time of 14.14 seconds in the 100 hurdles and 1:02.34 in the 400 hurdles.

Andrews is seeded seventh in the 100 hurdles and 12th in the 400 hurdles at the 2022 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships which will take place later this week at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.

Andrews will be making her seventh appearance at an NCAA Division III Track & Field Championship meet and first since the 2019 outdoor championships.

A four-time All-American, Andrews is the only Bridgewater State student-athlete to win multiple NCAA titles. She claimed the national title in the 60-meter hurdles at the 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, and then capped off her impressive run by capturing top honors in the 100-meter hurdles at the 2019 DIII Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Andrews presently holds nine individual school records at Bridgewater State (along with three relay marks). She is the Bears indoor record holder in the 55-meter hurdles (8.50), 60-meter hurdles (8.68), long jump (17'6.75"), 200-meter dash (26.37) and 400-meter dash (57.14), as well as the outdoor record holder in the 100-meter hurdles (13.66), 400-meter hurdles (1:00.08), 400-meter dash (55.76) and long jump (17'8.75").
