BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the fifth straight week and sixth time this season, Bridgewater State University graduate student Jayci Andrews has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

The MASCAC Athlete of the Week honor marks the 40th of Andrews' career including 21 outdoor distinctions.

Andrews garnered All-New England honors in both the 100-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles to lead the Bears this past weekend at the NEICAAA Championships hosted by Bryant University. The Plymouth, Massachusetts product placed fifth in the finals of the 400 hurdles with a season-best time of 1:02.25, and finished seventh in the finals of the 100 hurdles with a time of 14.41 seconds, as she was the top Division III student-athlete in each event.

Andrews currently ranks seventh in all of Division III in the 100 hurdles and tenth in the 400 hurdles.

A four-time All-American, Andrews is the only Bridgewater State student-athlete to win multiple NCAA titles. She claimed the national title in the 60-meter hurdles at the 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, and then capped off her impressive run by capturing top honors in the 100-meter hurdles at the 2019 DIII Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Andrews presently holds nine individual school records at Bridgewater State (along with three relay marks). She is the Bears indoor record holder in the 55-meter hurdles (8.50), 60-meter hurdles (8.68), long jump (17'6.75"), 200-meter dash (26.37) and 400-meter dash (57.14), as well as the outdoor record holder in the 100-meter hurdles (13.66), 400-meter hurdles (1:00.08), 400-meter dash (55.76) and long jump (17'8.75").

Several members of the BSU track and field teams will compete on Thursday at the MIT Final Qualifier.
