Jayci Andrews Named MASCAC Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the third straight week and fourth time this season, Bridgewater State University graduate student Jayci Andrews has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

The MASCAC Athlete of the Week honor marks the 38th of Andrews' career including 19 outdoor distinctions.

Andrews won a pair of MASCAC individual titles in the 100-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles this past weekend at the 2022 MASCAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at Swenson Field. The Plymouth, Massachusetts native posted a time of 14.33 seconds in the 100 hurdles and 1:04.32 in the 400 hurdles as she helped lead the Bears to their second straight MASCAC outdoor crown. Andrews also ran a leg on the Bears' MASCAC Champion 4x400-meter relay team (4:09.64).

Andrews currently ranks 11th in all of Division III in the 100 hurdles and 18th in the 400 hurdles. She is also first in the East Region in the 100 hurdles and second in the 400 hurdles.

A four-time All-American, Andrews is the only Bridgewater State student-athlete to win multiple NCAA titles. She claimed the national title in the 60-meter hurdles at the 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, and then capped off her impressive run by capturing top honors in the 100-meter hurdles at the 2019 DIII Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Andrews presently holds nine individual school records at Bridgewater State (along with three relay marks). She is the Bears indoor record holder in the 55-meter hurdles (8.50), 60-meter hurdles (8.68), long jump (17'6.75"), 200-meter dash (26.37) and 400-meter dash (57.14), as well as the outdoor record holder in the 100-meter hurdles (13.66), 400-meter hurdles (1:00.08), 400-meter dash (55.76) and long jump (17'8.75").

Qualifying members of the BSU outdoor track & field teams will compete at the Division III New England Championships held on Friday and Saturday at Williams College.
