Jayci Andrews Named MASCAC Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second straight week and third time this season, Bridgewater State University graduate student Jayci Andrews has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

The MASCAC Athlete of the Week honor marks the 37th of Andrews' career including 18 outdoor distinctions.

Andrews captured top honors in both the 100-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles this past weekend at the Tufts Sunshine Classic. The Plymouth, Massachusetts product recorded a time of 14.85 seconds in the 100 hurdles and posted a season-best time of 1:03.76 in the 400 hurdles

Andrews currently ranks ninth in all of Division III in the 100 hurdles and first in the East Region. She is also 14th nationally in the 400 hurdles and second in the East Region.

A four-time All-American, Andrews is the only Bridgewater State student-athlete to win multiple NCAA titles. She claimed the national title in the 60-meter hurdles at the 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, and then capped off her impressive run by capturing top honors in the 100-meter hurdles at the 2019 DIII Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Andrews presently holds nine individual school records at Bridgewater State (along with three relay marks). She is the Bears indoor record holder in the 55-meter hurdles (8.50), 60-meter hurdles (8.68), long jump (17'6.75"), 200-meter dash (26.37) and 400-meter dash (57.14), as well as the outdoor record holder in the 100-meter hurdles (13.66), 400-meter hurdles (1:00.08), 400-meter dash (55.76) and long jump (17'8.75").

The BSU outdoor track & field teams host the MASCAC Championships on Saturday at Swenson Field.
