Three Bears Earn All-New England Honors at Women's Indoor Track & Field Regional Championships

WATERVILLE, Me. – Junior Alison McDonough (Halifax, Mass.) earned All-New England honors to lead the Bridgewater State University women's track & field team at the 2022 NCAA Division III New England Indoor Track & Field Championships held on Saturday at Colby College.

McDonough placed seventh in the 60-meter hurdles with a finals time of 9.36 seconds as she was one of three Bears' to garner All-New England accolades.

Sophomore Serenity Sands (East Bridgewater, Mass.) placed seventh in the high jump with a leap of five feet, 2.5 inches (1.59m), while junior Abbi Peterson (Watertown, Mass.) tied for eighth in the event also jumping five feet, 2.5 inches (1.59m). Sands took the tie-breaker over Peterson and Kimmy McPherson (San Diego, Calif.) from MIT.

The Bears finished in 22nd place in the team standings with 4.50 points.

Next Saturday, select members of the BSU women's indoor track & field team will compete at the Tufts Final Qualifying Meet.
