BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second straight week, Bridgewater State University freshman Madeline Von Ruden has been selected as the Little East Conference (LEC) Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week.

A native of Ashley Falls, Massachusetts, Von Ruden continued her strong start to the season as she teamed with sophomore Abigail Ramer (Sherwood, Ore.) for an 8-2 triumph at first doubles and posted a 6-1, 6-0 straight set win at number one singles in the Bears' 9-0 Little East victory over Castleton University.

Von Ruden is a perfect 2-0 in both singles and doubles play to start the 2021 campaign competing out of the top flight.

The BSU women's tennis team will be back in action on Thursday afternoon as the Bears entertain Roger Williams University at three o'clock from the Rosen Memorial Tennis Courts.
