Brianna Venditti Named to Little East Sportsmanship Team

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior Brianna Venditti has been selected to the Little East Conference (LEC) Women's Tennis Sportsmanship Team.

Joining Venditti from acrosse the Little East on the Sportsmanship Team are Maggie Brock (Southern Maine), Sarah Gonick (Rhode Island College), Julie Miller (Plymouth State), Meaghan Moriarty (UMass Boston), Alanna O'Connell (UMass Dartmouth), Grace Sharkey (Castleton), Brooke Stillman (Western Connecticut), and Samantha Tenney (Salem State).

Venditti led the Bears in scoring this season as she recorded 24 wins between singles and doubles play. The North Smithfield, Rhode Island native posted a 13-3 singles record competing mostly out of the fifth flight including a 7-2 mark against Little East opponents as she also led the team in singles victories. Venditti added an 11-1 record competing exclusively out of the third doubles flight with a perfect 6-0 mark versus LEC foes.

The BSU women's tennis team went 13-3 in 2021 and finished second in the Little East standings with a 7-1 conference record. The Bears fashioned together an 11-match winning streak before dropping a 5-1 decision to top-seeded Rhode Island College in the Little East Tournament championship match.
