Swimming & Diving Teams Host Fast Chance Meet, Honor Seniors

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University men's and women's swimming & diving teams hosted the BSU Fast Chance Meet on Wednesday evening at the Moriarty Pool. The Bears also held Senior Night festivities as 12 student-athletes were honored.

Graduate student Alexa Wilson (Centerville, Mass.) recorded career-high scores for a six-dive event on both the one-meter and three-meter boards. Wilson posted a score of 252.90 points in the one-meter diving competition and tallied 207.85 points on the three-meter plank.

Wilson reached the 200-point mark on the three-meter board for the first time in her collegiate career. She has hit the 200-point mark on the one-meter board in each of the Bears' nine meets, that included diving, this season.

Junior Chris Anastasiades (Wakefield, Mass.) posted a career-best time of 56.58 seconds in the 100 backstroke.

Sophomore Olivia Ranck (Wilbraham, Mass.) recorded the top performance and posted a season-best time in both the 100 backstroke (1:05.35) and 100 individual medley (1:06.71).

Sophomore Renee Goodale (Vineyard Haven, Mass.) tied the Bears' season-best mark in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:17.01.

Prior to the meet, the Bears honored Wilson, fellow graduate student Katie Werra (East Taunton, Mass.), and seniors Bryan Abbott (Taunton, Mass.), Kyle Chaney (Torrance, Calif.), Ripley Devers (North Attleboro, Mass.), Antonio Gonzalez (Cranston, R.I.), Joshua Hernandez (Cranston, R.I.), Selin Marino (East Greenwich, R.I.), Jordyn Maxim (Lakeville, Mass.), Makayla Paquin (North Easton, Mass.), Gabriella Rivera (Hanover, Mass.) and Danielle Vissering (North Andover, Mass.).

Devers recorded a career-best time in the 200 freestyle (2:32.00).

The BSU swimming & diving teams are off until Saturday, February 19th when the Bears compete at the four-day Little East Conference Championships.
