Women's Swimming & Diving Drops 118-91 Decision to Babson

BABSON PARK, Mass. – The visiting Bridgewater State University women's swimming & diving team dropped a 118-91 decision to Babson College on Friday night at the Elizabeth Morse Swimming Center.

The Bears (2-5) were competing in their first meet since December 4th.

Graduate student Alexa Wilson (Centerville, Mass.) won the one-meter diving competition with a career-best score of 223.90 points. Wilson has hit the 200-point mark in each of the Bears' seven meets this season.

Senior Jordyn Maxim (Lakeville, Mass.) placed second in the 100 freestyle (59.55), while freshman Brianna Matte (Cumberland, R.I.) finished second in the 200 backstroke (1:09.12) and fellow rookie Brynn Murray (Chelmsford, Mass.) placed second in the 500 freestyle (6:04.76).

The Bears' foursome of senior Makayla Paquin (North Easton, Mass.), junior Hannah Geoffrion (Barnstable, Mass.), sophomore Olivia Ranck (Wilbraham, Mass.) and senior Danielle Vissering (North Andover, Mass.) posted a time of 1:52.09 in the 200 freestyle relay to finish second in the event.

The BSU swimming and diving teams are back in action next Tuesday evening when the Bears travel to Division II Bentley University for a six o'clock meet with the Falcons.
