Women's Swimming & Diving Drops 162-61 Decision to Roger Williams

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University women's swimming & diving team dropped a 162-61 decision to Roger Williams University on Saturday afternoon at the Moriarty Pool.

The visiting Hawks improve to 1-1 in dual meet competition on the season while the Bears slip to 1-2.

BSU graduate student Alexa Wilson (Centerville, Mass.) picked up a pair of individual victories for the Bears in the diving competition. Wilson placed first on the one-meter board with a season-best score of 214.70 points and posted a career-best score of 176.40 points to capture top honors on the three-meter board.

Sophomore Olivia Ranck (Wilbraham, Mass.) added a second-place finish for the Bears in the 200 backstroke with a career-best time of 2:23.98.

The foursome of seniors Jordyn Maxim (Lakeville, Mass.), Danielle Vissering (North Andover, Mass.), Makayla Paquin (North Easton, Mass.) and junior Hannah Geoffrion (Barnstable, Mass.) placed second in the 400 freestyle relay with a season-best time of 4:02.64.

The BSU swimming & diving teams are back in the pool on Wednesday evening when the Bears host a tri-meet with Stonehill College and Wheaton College.
