Erin McIntyre Named MASCAC Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior midfielder Erin McIntyre has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week.

McIntyre notched four caused turnovers, four ground balls and nine draw controls to go along with three goals in a 19-10 MASCAC win over Fitchburg State. 

Through 14 games this season, McIntyre has 42 goals and nine assists for 51 points. She also checks in with 36 ground balls, 61 draw controls and 20 caused turnovers/

McIntyre is currently tied for third in the MASCAC in caused turnovers. She is also fourth among the conference leaders in both ground balls and draw controls, and ranks sixth in goals as well as eighth in scoring.

In 50 games over her first three seasons with the Bears, McIntyre has amassed 78 goals and 16 assists for 94 points to go along with 99 ground balls, 184 draw controls and 54 caused turnovers. She is fifth all-time in program history with her 184 draw controls.

The MASCAC Defensive Players of the Week honors marks the first of McIntyre's career.

The BSU women's lacrosse team is presently 5-9 on the season and 2-2 in the MASCAC. The Bears entertain conference foe Salem State University on Wednesday night at seven o'clock.
