BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The two leading scorers on the Bridgewater State University women's lacrosse team have earned postseason honors.

Juniors Camryn Gonsalves (East Bridgewater, Mass.) and Erin McIntyre (Tewksbury, Mass.) were selected to the All-Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference first team in a vote by the coaches.

Gonsalves and McIntyre were chosen to the all-conference second team a year ago.

Gonsalves was one of four attack players named to the squad while McIntyre was one of fourth midfielders. Eight of the first-team picks are seniors while the other four are juniors.

Gonsalves and McIntyre helped BSU (8-11, 3-3 MASCAC) reach the semifinal round of the conference tournament where it lost to Framingham State University.

Both players set career highs in goals, assists and points and they combined to score 108 of BSU's 229 goals.

Gonsalves led the Bears with 80 points and was first with 32 assists and tied for second with 48 goals in 19 games.

McIntyre had a team-best 60 goals and was second with 19 assists and 79 points.

Playing for a third season together, Gonsalves and McIntyre formed a solid one-two punch for BSU.

"They have come into their games a lot more this year" said coach Erica Adams prior to the tournament. "They're seeing the field better and understanding the level of play and the work that has to go into the preparation.

"They also have found a great combination between the two of them. They definitely find one another. They've been playing together three years and it makes it a little easier for them."

Gonsalves had five goals and nine assists as a freshman and 30 goals and 15 assists as a sophomore when she made the All-MASCAC second team.

This season, Gonsalves had a pair of nine-point games, getting three goals and six assists in wins over Salem State and the Massachusetts Maritime Academy.

Gonsalves, who had 109 shots on goal and 19 ground balls, had a season-best six goals in a win over UMass Boston.

Gonsalves ranked second in the MASCAC in scoring, third in assists and tied for fifth in goals.

In 49 career games, Gonsalves has 83 goals, 51 assists and 134 points with a pair of game-winning goals and 50 ground balls and 10 draw controls.

McIntyre had nine goals and an assist as a freshman and 27 goals and six assists last season.

She had 91 shots on goals this season with 82 draw controls, 48 ground balls and two game-winning goals.

McIntyre had 10 points (seven goals and three assists) in a win over Salem State and six goals with an assist in a victory over Emmanuel.

She finished third in the MASCAC in goals and draw controls, tied for third in scoring, and fourth in both ground balls and caused turnovers (26).

McIntyre will enter her senior year fifth on BSU's all-time list with 205 draw controls.
