Brennan Headlines Bears' Three All-MASCAC Women's Lacrosse Selections

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Graduate midfielder Kelsi Brennan (Dedham, Mass.) garnered Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Defensive Player of the Year honors to highlight Bridgewater State's three representatives on the 2022 All-MASCAC Women's Lacrosse Team.

Brennan is joined on the All-MASCAC First Team by senior defender Taylor Carroll (Carver, Mass.).

Freshman attack Nina Liquori (Agawam, Mass.) earned All-MASCAC Second Team honors to round out the Bears' three all-conference selections. Liquori was also voted as the MASCAC Rookie of the Year.

Brennan is making her second appearance on the All-MASCAC Team as she also earned first team honors in 2019. Carroll is making their first appearance on the All-MASCAC Team.

In 35 games this season, Brennan produced 16 goals and 7 assists for 23 points as well as 56 ground balls, 63 draw controls and 37 caused turnovers. She currently leads the MASCAC in caused turnovers and ranks fourth in ground balls and sixth in draw controls.

In 68 games over five seasons with the Bears, Brennan amassed 35 goals and 16 assists for 51 points in addition to 173 ground balls, 124 draw controls and 124 caused turnovers. She is third all-time in program history in caused turnovers, fifth in ground balls and 12th in draw controls.

Carroll contributed a goal, 34 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers in 19 games this season. She is tied for the MASCAC lead in games played.

In 54 games over five seasons with the Bears, Carroll notched six goals and one assist to go along with 63 ground balls, seven draw controls, and 33 caused turnovers.

Liquori put together an impressive rookie campaign as she potted 39 goals and dished out seven assists for 46 points in 18 games. She also added 21 ground balls, 12 draw controls and 11 caused turnovers. The 39 goals marked the most for a BSU freshman since Melissa Renauld set the Bears' rookie record with 64 goals in 2014.

Liquori ranks second in the MASCAC in free position goals (14) and is tied for seventh in goals.

The BSU women's lacrosse team posted an overall record of 10-9 in 2022 including a 4-3 mark in MASCAC play. Seeded fourth in the MASCAC Tournament, the Bears recorded a 19-6 first round win over Salem State and then stunned top-seeded Westfield State in the semifinals, 14-13, before dropping an 18-10 decision to Framingham State in the title game.

Notes: Liquori is the fourth BSU women's lacrosse player to be named MASCAC Rookie of the Year since the conference added women's lacrosse as a competing sport in 2013, joining Lauren Geary (2013), Renauld (2014) and Elizabeth Ettridge (2016).
