Five Bears Named to IWLCA Academic Honor Roll

BRIDGEWATER, Mass.  --  Five members of the Bridgewater State University women's lacrosse team have been named to the 2022 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) NCAA Division III Academic Honor Roll.

BSU graduate student Kelsi Brennan (Dedham, Mass.); seniors Jacqueline DeLorey (Westwood, Mass.), Delaney Langton (Scituate, R.I.), and Katie Swart (Bridgewater, Mass.); and junior Katie O'Brien (Pembroke, Mass.) are among the 1,104 student-athletes from 194 different Division III institutions to earn the accolade.

To be eligible for the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must be juniors, seniors, or graduate students and have earned a cumulative academic grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or greater.

Brennan just completed he first year of graduate school and checks in with a 4.00 grade point average at the grad level as she is working towards her Master of Education degree in reading.

DeLorey and Swart both graduated last month with Bachelor of Science degrees in communication studies. DeLorey wrapped up her four years at BSU with a cumulative 3.69 GPA, while Swart completed her BSU academic career with a 3.77 GPA. 

Langton currently sports a 3.68 GPA and is majoring in elementary education and sociology, while O'Brien is a physical education (teacher licensure) major with a 3.75 GPA.

The BSU women's lacrosse team is also one of 398 schools from across Division I, II, III and the NAIA to be recognized as an IWLCA Academic Honor Squad for the 2021-2022 academic year. The award recognizes outstanding academic achievement by teams with cumulative grade point averages (GPA) of 3.2 or better for the academic year. The Bears recorded a team GPA of 3.34 in 2021-2022.
