Kelsi Brennan Named to IWLCA All-Berkshire Region Team

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University graduate midfielder Kelsi Brennan has been named as a second team selection on the 2022 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Berkshire Region Team.

Brennan is the Bears' sixth IWLCA All-Berkshire Region selection since 2010, joining former teammates Emily Hiller (First Team, 2021) and Victoria McDonough (Second Team, 2019) as well as Lauren Geary (First Team, 2016), Taylor Clancy (Second Team, 2014) and Shannon Manning (Second Team, 2010).

In 35 games this season, Brennan produced 16 goals and seven assists for 23 points as well as 56 ground balls, 63 draw controls and 37 caused turnovers. She led the MASCAC in caused turnovers and ranked fourth in ground balls and sixth in draw controls.

Brennan’s 16 goals, 23 points, 56 ground balls, 63 draw controls and 37 caused turnovers all marked single-season highs.

For her outstanding performance in 2022, Brennan was selected as the MASCAC Defensive Player of the Year and garnered All-MASCAC First Team honors. She was also named the BSU Lee Harrington Unsung Hero Award winner earlier this month.

In 68 games over five seasons with the Bears, Brennan amassed 35 goals and 16 assists for 51 points in addition to 173 ground balls, 124 draw controls and 124 caused turnovers. She is third all-time in program history in caused turnovers, fifth in ground balls and 12th in draw controls.

The BSU women's lacrosse team posted an overall record of 10-9 in 2022 including a 4-3 mark in MASCAC play. Seeded fourth in the MASCAC Tournament, the Bears recorded a 19-6 first round win over Salem State and then stunned top-seeded Westfield State in the semifinals, 14-13, before dropping an 18-10 decision to Framingham State in the title game.
