DORCHESTER, Mass. – Sophomore Joseph Keough (Walpole, Mass.) placed 16th out of a field of 162 runners to lead the Bridgewater State University men's cross country team at the 48th Annual Codfish Bowl held at Franklin Park.
Keough covered the eight-kilometer course in a time of 27:25. Ryan O'Connell, an unattached harrier, won the meet with a time of 25:40.
Freshman Trevor Wysong (Taunton, Mass.) was next across the line for the Bears as he placed 28th overall with a time of 28:16. Wysong was followed by classmate Joseph Celia (Bridgewater, Mass.) in 32nd place (28:21). Freshman Mike Hutchinson (Leominster, Mass.) and junior Michael Sanpietro (South Easton, Mass.) rounded out Bridgewater's top five runners in 55th (29:14) and 85th place (30:17), respectively.
The Bears placed fourth in the team standings. UMass Dartmouth finished first followed by Merrimack College and Babson College.
After a week off, the Bears will compete at the James Earley Invitational hosted by Westfield State University on Saturday, October 8th.
