SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. -- Corey Stalters (Norton, Mass.) and Jason Dann (Reading, Mass.) earned All-New England honors to lead the Bridgewater State University men's outdoor track & field team on Friday during day one of the Division III New England Championships hosted by Mount Holyoke College.
Stalters placed second in the javelin with a distance of 201 feet, three inches (61.35m) while Dann finished seventh in the hammer throw with a toss of 168 feet, one inch (51.23m).
The top eight placewinners in each event at the two-day championship meet garner All-New England accolades.
Chigozie Adigwe (Lowell, Mass.) qualified for the finals of the 110-meter hurdles as he finished ninth in the preliminaries with a time of 15.32 seconds.
Thomas Barinelli (Tewksbury, Mass.) checked in with a tenth place performance in the long jump (21'8"/6.60m) and also finished 11th in the preliminaries of the 110-meter hurdles (15.53).
Ryker King (Wareham, Mass.) also finished in the top 15 for the Bears on Friday as he was 13th in the 110-meter hurdles (15.71).
The two-day Division III New England Championships will conclude on Saturday with events getting underway at 10:00 AM.
The Bears are currently tied for ninth place in the team standings with ten points.
