Men's Track & Field Competes at MIT Final Qualifier

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Five members of the Bridgewater State University men's outdoor track & field team competed on Thursday at the MIT Final Qualifier.

Senior Jacob DeAndrade (Taunton, Mass.) placed first in the finals of the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.87 seconds, while graduate student Trevor Wysong (Taunton, Mass.) was the top runner in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:46.06. DeAndrade added a seventh-place showing in the 200-meter dash (22.18).

Senior Matthew Lighten (Dalton, Mass.) placed third in the 200 with a time of 21.78 seconds. Freshman Chigozie Adigwe (Lowell, Mass.) and junior Dimetri Morris (North Andover, Mass.) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the finals of the 110-meter hurdles. Adigwe posted a finals time of 14.88 seconds, while Morris checked in with a time of 15.23 seconds. Adigwe also recorded a preliminary time of 14.77 seconds.

The field for the 2022 NCAA Division III Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championship is expected to be announced Friday evening by 8:00 PM.
