Men's Track & Field Competes at DIII New England Championships

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Six members of the Bridgewater State University men's track & field team competed on Friday at the Division III New England Championships hosted by Williams College.

Senior Jacob DeAndrade (Taunton, Mass.) finished third in the preliminaries of the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.03 seconds as he advanced to Saturday's finals. Freshman Gavin Weldon (Taunton, Mass.) finished 24th (11.43) in the 100, while classmate Nathan Candido (Taunton, Mass.) finished 28th (11.57).

Freshman Chigozie Adigwe (Lowell, Mass.) and junior Dimetri Morris (North Andover, Mass.) finished seventh and eighth, respectively, in the preliminaries of the 110-meter hurdles as they each advanced to Saturday's finals. Adigwe recorded a career-best (non wind-aided) time of 15.05 seconds, while Morris posted a time of 15.15 seconds.

Sophomore Thomas Barinelli (Tewksbury, Mass.) placed 11th in the long jump with a leap of 22 feet, 0.50 inches (6.72m), while junior Jacob Belcher (Halifax, Mass.) placed 17th in the hammer throw with a toss of 140 feet, 7.5 inches (42.86m).
