FITCHBURG, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State College men's outdoor track and field team posted a fourth place finish at the Eric Loeschner Memorial meet hosted by Fitchburg State College on Saturday.
The Bears tallied 88 points finishing behind meet champion WPI (201.5), host Fitchburg State (162.5), and Bentley University (133).
Freshman Bill Taft (Hanson, MA) captured the meet title in the 3,000-meter steeplechase as he set a personal best in the event with a time of 9:50.79. Taft also ran a leg on the Bears first place 4 x 800-meter relay squad which posted a time of 8:51.15. Joining Taft on the relay team were fellow freshmen Mike Sukeforth (Middleboro, MA), Kevin Sheehan (Rockland, MA) and Adam Cook (Hanover, MA).
Junior Nick Ferrara (Swansea, MA) placed second in the high jump with a height of 6' 0.75". Kevin White (Swansea, MA) finished third in the 400-meter hurdles (:59.48) and fourth in the 110-meter hurdles (:16.56).
