BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University sophomore Joseph Pervier has been selected as the Little East Conference (LEC) Men's Rookie Swimmer of the Week.

Pervier picked up a pair of individual events wins this past weekend at the BSU Invitational. The Baldwinville, Massachusetts product grabbed top honors and posted career-best times in the 50 backstroke (26.52) and 100 backstroke (57.65). He also placed second and recorded a career-best time in the 100 freestyle (49.91), and swam the backstroke leg (26.71) in the 200 medley relay.

Pervier helped the Bears capture the team title at the meet as he registered 45 team points.

The BSU men's swimming and diving team is off until Saturday, January 8th when the Bears host Trinity College at one o'clock.
