BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior Joshua Hernandez has been selected as the Little East Conference (LEC) Men's Swimmer of the Week.

Hernandez posted career-best times in the 50 butterfly (24.18), 50 freestyle (22.09) and 100 freestyle (48.95) to win all three events this past weekend at the BSU Invitational. The Cranston, Rhode Island native also swam a leg on the winning 200 medley relay (1:40.41) along with sophomore Brennan Gravanda (Wilbraham, Mass.) and juniors Chris Anastasiades (Wakefield, Mass.) and Luc Durand (Marblehead, Mass.).

Hernandez helped the Bears capture the team title at the meet as he had a hand in 80 team points.

The BSU men's swimming and diving team is off until Saturday, January 8th when the Bears host Trinity College at one o'clock.
