Men's Swimming & Diving Falls to Wheaton, 162-59

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University men's swimming & diving team hosted a dual meet with Wheaton College on Wednesday evening at the Moriarty Pool.

The visiting Lyons posted a 162-59 victory to improve to 2-4 on the season, while the Bears slip to 2-2 in dual meet competition.

BSU junior Chris Anastasiades (Wakefield, Mass.) placed second in the 100 freestyle with a career-best time of 49.56 seconds. Freshman Chase Simao (Stonington, Conn.) and senior Joshua Hernandez (Cranston, R.I.) also posted second place finishes for the Bears. Simao placed second in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 10:52.54, while Hernandez finished second in the 50 freestyle with a time of 22.73 seconds.

The Bears' foursome of Anastasiades, Hernandez, junior Ben Wilkinson (Reading, England) and sophomore Joseph Pervier (Baldwinville, Mass.) recorded a time of 1:31.56 to finish second in the 200 freestyle relay.

The BSU men's swimming & diving team is off until Saturday, December 4th when the Bears host the BSU Invitational at noon.
