Kevin Roberts, Liam Lenihan Selected to Play in NEISL Senior All-Star Game

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University graduate midfielder Kevin Roberts and senior defender Liam Lenihan have been selected to play in the 2021 New England Intercollegiate Soccer League (NEISL) Division III Senior All-Star Game hosted by Brandeis University on Sunday, November 28th at 1:00 PM.

Roberts and Lenihan are the first Bears' selected to play in the NEISL Senior All-Star Game since Conor Murtagh in 2015. Other former BSU men's soccer standouts selected to play in the all-star game (since 2008) include Tucker Fairbanks (2012), Donald Flores (2011), Dan Roberts (2011), Mike White (2010) and Jon Machado (2008).

A native of Medway, Massachusetts, Roberts notched two goals, including one game-winner, and dished out five assists for nine points in 17 games this season. He tied for fourth in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) in assists.

Roberts wrapped up his four-year career at Bridgewater State with 16 goals (five game-winners) and 15 assists for 47 points over 73 games.

Lenihan, who hails from Rockland, Massachusetts, anchored the BSU defensive backfield in 2021. The Bears posted a team goals against average of 1.86 and recorded four shutouts as the squad ranked third in the MASCAC in each category. Lenihan started all 18 games and recorded one assist on the season.

Lenihan appeared in 52 games over three seasons with the Bears and made 47 starts. He notched three career assists.

Both Roberts and Lenihan were All-MASCAC First Team selections in 2021.
