Camden Dunbury Named MASCAC Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – For the second straight week, Bridgewater State University freshman center Camden Dunbury has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Week.

Dunbury posted a double-double with career highs of 30 points and 12 rebounds (six offensive) in the Bears’ 93-74 setback to Rhode Island College last week. The Pocasset, Massachusetts product connected on 14 of 24 field goal attempts (58.3%) and added a steal and blocked shot. 

Through seven games this season, Dunbury is averaging 16.6 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.7 blocked shots per game while shooting 53.5% (46-86) from the floor and 68.6% (24-35) at the free throw line. He leads the MASCAC in blocked shots and ranks fourth in both rebounding and field goal percentage, fifth in scoring and tenth in free throw percentage.

The BSU men’s basketball team is currently 0-7 on the season. The Bears entertain the Lions of Emerson College on Thursday night at seven o'clock.
