Camden Dunbury Named MASCAC Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University freshman center Camden Dunbury has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Week.

A native of Pocasset, Massachusetts, Dunbury averaged 12.3 points, six rebounds and three blocked shots while shooting 53.8% (14-26) from the floor in three games for the Bears last week.

Dunbury garnered All-Tournament honors at the BSU Cave Classic as he notched 21 points, eight rebounds, a steal and three blocked shots in a 74-63 setback to Eastern Nazarene College, and 11 points, six boards and three blocks in a 98-85 loss to Anna Maria College. He also added five points, four rebounds, two assists and three blocks earlier in the week in a 79-48 setback to UMass Boston.

Through six games this season, Dunbury is averaging 14.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.0 blocked shots per game while shooting 51.6% (32-62) from the floor and 68.8% (22-32) at the free throw line. He leads the MASCAC in blocked shots and ranks fifth in field goal percentage, sixth in scoring, seventh in rebounding and tenth in free throw percentage.

The BSU men’s basketball team is currently 0-6 on the season. The Bears travel to Rhode Island College on Tuesday night to take on the Anchormen at 7:30.
