The first eight minutes of the contest featured seven lead changes. A Darby layup at the 12:12 marking of the opening stanza put the Anchormen on top,13-12, and accounted for the final lead change of the game. The bucket also jump-started a 19-0 RIC run over a four-minute stretch to give the visitors a 30-12 lead. Jacobs drained a trio of trifectas during the run, while Darby dropped in six points. The Bears chipped away at the deficit and closed out the half with seven straight points, including an Alan Pettway (Worcester, Mass.) three-pointer, to make it an eight-point game (43-35) at the break.

RIC's lead fluctuated between seven and 11 points over the first 6 ½ minutes of the second half. A Dunbury layup at the 13:42 mark pulled the visitors to within seven at 58-51. The Bears, however, would miss 11 straight shots and turn the ball over three times over the next 6 ½ minutes. A decisive 15-0 Anchormen run during that span put the game out of reach as the RIC lead ballooned to 22 (73-51) with 7:51 showing on the scoreboard. Darby scored seven points during the spurt. The host would get up by as many as 23 points the rest of the way and coasted to the 93-74 win.

The Anchorwomen shot 43% (35-81) for the game, including 17-for-39 (44%) from three-point range, and turned the ball over just eight times. The RIC defense forced 21 BSU turnovers which led to a decided 34-9 advantage in points off turnovers.

The Bears connected on 46% (31-68) of their field goal attempts and went 4-for-13 (31%) from behind the arc and 8-for-11 (73%) at the charity stripe. Bridgewater finished with a 48-36 edge in points in the paint.
