BOSTON, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University men's basketball team dropped a 71-52 decision to host Emmanuel College on Saturday evening at the EC Tip-Off Classic.

The Bears (0-3) went 0-2 at the EC Tip-Off Classic, while the Saints (2-0) won both of their games.

Sophomore guard Donte Pope (Middletown, Conn.) paced Emmanuel with double-double totals of 21 points and ten rebounds (three offensive). Pope connected on 10 of 15 field goal attempts and added a pair of assists. The Saints also received 14 points and six rebounds from sophomore forward Eljay Morris (London, England) in 18 minutes off the bench.

BSU freshman center Camden Dunbury (Pocasset, Mass.) recorded his first career-double as he tallied a career-high 26 points and 11 rebounds. Dunbury, who went 10-for-10 at the free throw line, also blocked three shots. Five os his game-best 11 boards came off the offensive glass.

The Saints shot 42% (27-64) from the floor, 33% (8-24) from behind the arc and 82% (9-11) at the free throw line.

The Bears connected on just 27% (19-70) of their field goal attempts and went 2-for-20 (10%) from behind the arc. Thanks to Dunbury's outstanding performance at the line, the Bears finished 12-for-14 (86%) at the charity stripe.

The BSU defense forced 17 turnovers as the Bears held a 16-8 edge in points off turnovers. The Emmanuel bench, however, outscored the BSU reserves by a decided margin of 34-10.

The Bears are back in action on Wednesday night when they travel to UMass Boston to take on the Beacons at seven o'clock.
