Victoria Camara, Jordyn Perry Honored by Little East Conference

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University senior forward Victoria Camara and junior defender Jordyn Perry were both honored as the 2021 Little East Conference (LEC) field hockey award winners were announced today by LEC Associate Commissioner, Darryl Konicki.

Camara was selected to All-Little East Second Team, while Perry was named as the Bears’ recipient of the Twelfth Player Award.

A native of Westport, Massachusetts, Camara led the BSU field hockey team in scoring as she notched five goals and three assists for 13 points during the 2021 campaign. Camara, who started all 17 games, also recorded one defensive save.

In 49 career games over three seasons with the Bears, Camara amassed eight goals and eight assists for 24 points. Three of her eight career goals were game-winners.

Perry appeared in 15 games and made seven starts in the Bears’ defensive backfield during her first season of collegiate competition. The Nantucket, Massachusetts native notched a pair of defensive saves and helped the team record two shutouts.

The Twelfth Player Award is presented to a student-athlete in recognition of their positive contributions to the team both on and off the field, who brings forth their best effort in competition, practice and other team activities that positively contribute to the success of the program. This is the first year that the Little East has presented the award.

The BSU field hockey team posted an overall record of 5-12 in 2021 including a 3-9 mark in LEC play.
