Thomas Fay Named MASCAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University senior kicker and punter Thomas Fay has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Football Special Teams Player of the Week.

Fay, who hails from Raynham, Massachusetts, converted all six of his extra point attempts and averaged 43 yards on four punts with two inside the 20 in the Bears’ 42-0 MASCAC win at Fitchburg State University.

Through five games this season, Fay is a perfect 11-for-11 in point after tries and is averaging 38.7 yards on 21 punts with four inside the 20 and a long of 61.

In 15 games over two seasons with the Bears, Fay has converted 43 of 51 (84%) extra point attempts and has punted 26 times for 968 yards (37.2 avg.).

The BSU football team is currently 3-2 on the season and 3-0 in the MASCAC. The Bears, who have won each of their last three games, travel to Worcester State University on Saturday for a noontime conference game with the Lancers.
