Adam Couch Named MASCAC Football Offensive Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University junior running back Adam Couch has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Football Offensive Player of the Week.

Couch rushed for a career-high 190 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries in the Bears’ 49-13 MASCAC win on the road at Worcester State University. The Winchendon, Massachusetts product averaged ten yards per carry and score on runs of nine, five and four yards. Ten of his 19 runs resulted in either a first down or touchdown.

Through six games this season, Couch has carried the ball 124 times for 752 yards and ten touchdowns as he is averaging 6.1 yards per carry and 125.3 yards per game. He currently leads the MASCAC in rushing attempts, rushing yards (total and per game), rushing touchdowns and scoring (60 pts.).

Couch also earned MASCAC Offensive Player of the Week honors back on September 26th.

The BSU football team is currently 4-2 on the season and a perfect 4-0 in the MASCAC. Following a bye week, Bridgewater State will welcome conference foe Westfield State University to Swenson Field for the Bears' Homecoming Game on Saturday, October 23rd at four o'clock.
