The all-time winningest coach in Bridgewater State University men’s basketball history, Joe Farroba has skippered the program since being named the head coach in 1992. Farroba has amassed an overall record of 333-278 (.545) since taking the reins of the program in '92 after serving as an assistant to Mark Champagne beginning in 1986. His win total of 333 is more than double the next highest mark of 145 (Tom Knudson).  Under Farroba’s tutelage, the BSU men’s basketball team reached postseason play nine times including NCAA Division III Tournament appearances in 1999, 2006, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2014.  The 2009 squad advanced to the NCAA Tournament “Sweet Sixteen” with a dramatic 78-76 upset win over nationally ranked Middlebury College on Middlebury’s home court. Farroba was selected by his colleagues as the MASCAC Coach of the Year on four separate occasions (1998, 2009, 2010, 2012).  Fellow BSU Hall of Famers Joe O’Connor (Class of 99), Mark Gonsalves (Class of 2005) and Bruce Higgins (Class of 2005) all played under Farroba’s, guidance. Joe is a 1975 graduate of Boston State College where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education.  He also has a Masters of Science degree in Continuing Education from McGill University as well as a Masters degree in Integrated Studies from Cambridge College.  Joe and his wife, Linda, presently reside in North Attleboro, Massachusette.  They have two children, Justine and John, who are both Bridgewater State grads.
