Catherine Karl

Catherine Karl was a four-year member of both the women's volleyball (1986-89) and softball (1987-90) teams at Bridgewater State. In volleyball, she was selected to the MASCAC All-Conference team in 1986, 1988, and 1989. She was a two-year captain of the volleyball team. In softball, Cathie played third base and was named to the NSCA All-American (2nd team) in 1989 and 1990 when she captained the squad as well as the MASCAC All Conference teams from 1988-90. She was BSC's first two-time "Female Athlete of the Year" in 1989 and 1990. Her lifetime batting average was .380 which was highlighted by her batting .470 as a senior.

After coaching three sports at Somerset High School, Cathie returned to her alma mater as an assistant volleyball coach for the 1998, 99 and 2001 seasons.

She presently teaches and coaches softball, volleyball and basketball at Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School.

She currently resides in her hometown of Fall River, MA with her husband Charles and daughter Gabriella.
