Jenise Madden Named MASCAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University senior Jenise Madden has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Madden captured the meet title at the Seventh Annual Bruce Kirsh Cup hosted by Franklin Pierce University this past weekend at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds. The Milford, Massachusetts native covered the five-kilometer course in a time of 18:43.7 as she outdistanced a field of 73 runners. Madden helped the Bears place third in the team standings at the seven-team meet which featured five Division II schools.

The MASCAC Runner of the Week accolade marks the fourth of Madden’s career as she also earned the honor twice in 2018.

After a weekend off, Madden and several members of the BSU women’s cross country team will compete at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships held at Franklin Park on Saturday, October 12th.
