Women’s Cross Country Competes at Tri-State Invitational

LINCOLN, R.I. -- The Bridgewater State University women's cross country team competed at the Tri-State Invitational hosted by CCRI-Lincoln on Saturday.

Freshman Katherine Vogel (Bronx, N.Y.) paced the Bears as she finished 26th overall out of a field of 61 runners. Vogel covered the five-kilometer course in a time of 23:42.96.

Senior Haley Piotrowski (Feeding Hills, Mass.) and sophomore Allysia Houck (Sturbridge, Mass.) were the next two Bears across the finish line. Piotrowski finished 29th with a time of 24:51.20, while Houck grabbed the 46th spot with a time of 27:48.97.

Salve Regina University placed first in the team standings followed by Johnson & Wales University and Eastern Connecticut State University. The Bears did not place in the team standings.

ECSU senior Samantha McKosky won the meet with a time of 20:04.56.

Next weekend, the BSU cross country teams will compete at the NEICAAA Championships held at Franklin Park in Dorchester, Massachusetts.
