Women’s Cross Country Places Third at Season-Opening RWU Invitational

BRISTOL, R.I. -- The Bridgewater State University women's cross country team opened the 2018 season with a third place finish at the Roger Williams Invitational held on Friday  afternoon at Colt State Park in Bristol, Rhode Island.

Junior Jenise Madden (Milford, Mass.) placed second out of a field of 51 harriers as she covered the two-mile course in a time of 12:39.86.

Senior Emily Guyon (Hopedale, Mass.) placed fifth with a time of 13:17.88, while freshman Amanda Ward (Manahawkin, N.J.) rounded out the Bears' top three runners as she finished 25th overall with a time of 14:25.91.

The meet marked the head coaching debut of BSU skipper Connor Foley.

Following an off weekend, the Bears will compete at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday, September 15th.
