Volleyball Falls to Bowdoin at HOF Invitational

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (25-7, 25-14, 25-17) decision to Bowdoin College on Friday night at the Hall of Fame Invitational hosted by Smith College.

Senior outside hitter Kayla Baril (Seekonk, Mass.) paced Bridgewater State with eight kills, nine digs and one solo block, while sophomore middle hitter Sydney Rice (Medway, Mass.) notched five kills and a pair of solo blocks. Sophomore setter Casey Holmes (Norton, Mass.) checked in with 18 assists and four digs. Sophomore defensive specialist Maggie Czarniak (Halifax, Mass.) added seven digs.

Bowdoin improves to 20-1 on the season with the win as the Polar Bears have won ten straight matches.

The two-day Hall of Fame Invitational continues on Saturday. The Bears (4-12) will take on Bates College (11:00 AM) and Amerst College (3:00 PM) with those matches being played at Amherst. Bowdoin will face off against Coast Guard Academy (1:00 PM) and Wellesley College (3:00 PM) also at Amherst.
