Jayci Andrews Named USTFCCCA Outdoor All-American

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University senior Jayci Andrews (Plymouth, Mass.) was officially named an NCAA Division III Women’s Outdoor Track & Field All-American on Monday (May 28) by the United States Track & Field & Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

All-Americans for the 2019 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season were officially announced by the USTFCCCA earlier today.

Athletes of member institutions who finished in the top-eight of their respective individual events and relays at the 2019 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships held this past weekend at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio took home All-America honors.

Andrews captured the national title in the 100-meter hurdles as she posted a winning and school-record time of 13.66 seconds in the finals on Saturday afternoon. Andrews also earned All-American honors with a third-place showing in the 400-meter hurdles. She posted a finals time of 1:00.39 and broke her own school record with a preliminary time of 1:00.08.

A four-time All-American, Andrews is the first student-athlete in Bridgewater State history to win multiple NCAA titles. This past March, Andrews captured the national title in the 60-meter hurdles at the 2019 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships

Last spring, Andrews garnered All-American accolades with a second place finish in the 100-meter hurdles at the 2018 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
