Andrews Advances to Finals of 400-Meter Hurdles at NCAA Championships

GENEVA, Ohio -- Bridgewater State University senior Jayci Andrews (Plymouth, Mass.) broke her own school record and advanced to the finals of the 400-meter hurdles on Thursday afternoon at the 2019 NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.

Andrews completed the race in 1:00.08 as she posted the second fastest time in Thursday's preliminaries behind only Bella Solis (59.72) of Loras College. Andrews eclipsed her previous BSU mark of 1:01.37 set at the 2018 NEICAAA Championships.

The finals of the 400-meter hurdles will take place on Saturday afternoon at 2:15 PM. Andrews is seeded fourth in the finals as she placed second in her preliminary heat.

Andrews will also compete in the preliminaries of the 100-meter hurdles on Friday afternoon at 2:10 PM. She is the #1 seed in the event. Teammate Kira Gilbreath (West Haven, Utah) will compete in the shot put on Friday afternoon starting at two o'clock.
