Andrews Leads Women's Track & Field at DIII New Englands

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Senior Jayci Andrews (Plymouth, Mass.) captured the New England championship in both the 100-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles to lead the Bridgewater State University women's outdoor track & field team on Saturday at the Division III New England Championships hosted by Williams College.

Andrews placed first in the finals of the 100 hurdles with a time of 14.07 records and won the 400 hurdles with a season-best time of 1:01.58.

Fellow senior Kira Gilbreath (West Haven, Utah) also garnered All-New England honors for the Bears as she place third in the shot put with a toss of 41 feet, seven inches (12.67m).

Bridgewater State finished 11th in the team standings with 26 points.

Next weekend, qualifying members of the BSU women's outdoor track & field team will compete at the NEICAAA Championships hosted by Southern Connecticut State University.
