Three Bears Compete at Jay Carisella Invitational

DEDHAM, Mass. -- Three members of the Bridgewater State University women's outdoor track & field team competed on Saturday at the Jay Carisella Coaches Invitational hosted by Northeastern University at the Solomon Track & Field Facility in Dedham.

Senior Molly McNamara (Hull, Mass.) placed sixth in the triple jump (33'2"/10.11m) and eighth in the long jump (16'3/25"/4.96m). McNamara equaled her career best mark in the long jump.

Classmate Patricia Healion (Medford, Mass.) placed sixth in the high jump (4'11"/1.50m), while fellow senior Madeline McNamara (Hull, Mass.) finished eighth in the triple jump (31'9.5"/9.69m) and 12th in the long jump (15'1.5"/4.61m).

The three Bears were the only Division III student-athletes to compete in the high jump or the triple jump at the meet.

Next Saturday, the BSU women's outdoor track & field team will compete at the MASCAC Championships hosted by Fitchburg State University.
