Andrews Advances to Finals of 60-Meter Hurdles at NCAA Indoor Championships

ROXBURY, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior Jayci Andrews (Plymouth, Mass.) qualified for the finals of the 60-meter hurdles on Friday afternoon at the 2019 NCAA Division III Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships held at the Reggie Lewis Center.

Andrews won her heat and tied for the fifth best time n the preliminaries of the 60-meter hurdles with a school-record mark of 8.70 seconds. The top eight hurdlers (three heat winners plus next five best times) advanced to Saturday's final which is slated to get underway at approximately 1:45 PM (EST).

Andrews, who is making her third trip to the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, eclipsed her previous BSU indoor mark of 8.74 seconds set at the 2019 Division III New England Championships on February 23rd.

Along with her three NCAA indoor appearances, Andrews also competed at the NCAA DIII Outdoor Track & Field Championships in 2016 and 2018. Last May at the 2018 outdoor championships, she earned All-American honors with a second place finish in the 100-meter hurdles.
