Gilbreath, Kotleski, Wysong Garner USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior Michael Kotleski, junior Kira Gilbreath (West Haven, Utah) and sophomore Trevor Wysong (Taunton, Mass.) have each earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic honors for the 2017-2018 track & field season.

A total of 1,035 Division III student-athletes from across the nation earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors during the 2017-18 track & field seasons. To qualify for the all-academic honor, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher and must have met at least one of the following athletic standards:

  • Competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship
  • Finished the regular season ranked in the national top-50 in an individual event or ranked in the national top-35 in a relay event on the official NCAA Descending Order List.

A native of Great Barrington, Massachusetts, Kotleski wrapped up his collegiate career with a 3.48 GPA. He graduated this past May with a degree in criminal justice and is now serving in the Coast Guard. Kotleski was a part of the Bears' 4x400-meter relay squad which placed ninth at the 2018 NCAA Division III Indoor Championships and ranked 30th during the outdoor season.

A physical education major, Gilbreath currently sports a cumulative 3.68 GPA. The West Haven, Utah product, placed 22nd in the shot put at the 2018 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships and ranked 31st in the shot for the indoor campaign.

Wysong, who hails from Taunton, Massachusetts, checks in with a 3.42 GPA while majoring in computer science. He ranked 50th in the 10,000-meter run during the 2018 outdoor season.
