Jayci Andrews Named MASCAC Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University junior Jayci Andrews has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Andrews broke the school record and garnered All-NEICAAA honors in the 400-meter hurdles this past weekend at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships hosted by Dartmouth College. The Plymouth, Massachusetts product posted a finals time of 1:01.37 to place fifth in the event as she eclipsed Rachel Smith's previous school mark of 1:02.29 set back in 2008.

Andrews currently ranks tenth in all of Division III in the 400-meter hurdles. She is also fifth nationally in the 100-meter hurdles.

The MASCAC Athlete of the Week honor marks the 17th of Andrews' career including six outdoor distinctions.

In upcoming action, several members of the BSU outdoor track & field teams will compete on Thursday at the MIT Last Chance Qualifier.
