LA CROSSE, Wisc. -- Bridgewater State University junior Jayci Andrews (Plymouth, Mass.) placed second in the 100-meter hurdles to earn All-American honors on Saturday afternoon at the 2018 NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Andrews broke her own school record in the hurdles with a time of 14.14 seconds as she eclipsed her previous BSU mark of 14.27 seconds set at the NEICAAA Championships earlier this month. Andrews was edged out by junior Sophie Stokes Cerkvenik of Colby College who won the national title with a time of 14.06 seconds.

Senior Annie Woolley of fellow MASCAC school Fitchburg State University rounded out the top three with a time of 14.16 seconds, while senior Nicole Bartoletta of Geneva College posted a time of 14.17 seconds to place fourth overall.

Andrews is the Bears' fourth All-American since 2013. Samantha Richner tied for eighth place in the high jump at the 2016 outdoor championships, while Molly Rouillard placed seventh in the mile run at the 2013 indoor championships and seventh in the 1,500-meter run at the 2013 outdoor championships.

On Thursday, Andrews finished 13th in the 400-meter hurdles at the national championship meet, while classmate Kira Gilbreath (West Haven, Utah) finished 22nd in the shot put on Friday.

The Bears tied for 34th place in the team standings with eigth points.
